Arthur Jeppe: As an artist and storyteller, I have been lucky to spend nearly 25 years creating visuals for feature films, including Oscar-winning titles such as Disney's Frozen, Big Hero 6, The Life of Pi, and Independence Day. From an early age, I knew this was my calling, inspired by graphic arts and a love for a good story. I look forward to making Bookdragon a place where young people's creativity is nurtured and cultivated through reading and the arts.
Lisa Jeppe: My passion for reading and visual arts led me to a 30 year career developing art education programs for children and teens, and curating exhibition programs. I've always enjoyed connecting with creative people, readers, artists, writers, and the community. I'm excited to share this passion with Bookdragon, where we're building a curated, creative bookstore focused on inspiration, collaboration and sparking curious thinking.
Melanie/Dr. Tioleco-Cheng/Dr. Bookworm: I was the girl with stacks of books in my hands every time I left the library. I also met my husband through our shared love of books. To say this is a dream come true is an understatement. I write picture books and MG/YA novels and I have been blogging for a decade. You can find me at Dr. Bookworm, where I offer book recommendations from a pediatrician’s point of view. I love being a pediatrician and connecting with my community of kids. I love writing, reading, and all kinds of crafts. If you’re a patient (or previous patient) of mine, please come say hi!
Scott Malabarba: As a kid, I used to get in trouble for reading "too much" and spent most of my time in Middle-Earth, Earthsea, and similar locales. The day the bookmobile came to our little rural lane was the highlight of my month. When we moved to California, I read every book in the scifi/fantasy section of the city library. As an adult, I've spent twenty-five years in the tech industry engaging in such dubious pursuits as enterprise content management, cloud architecture, AI strategy, software development process, and compliance. But I did keep reading, and also started writing (scifi and fantasy, of course, mostly middle grade and YA). I've also loved computer games for as long as they've existed, especially the ones that tell stories -- from Zork in 1980 to Star Wars: Outlaws today. So many young readers yearn every day, as I did, to come across that misty portal amongst standing stones, that shimmering stargate, or that rainbow road that will lead them to a new realm. I want Bookdragon to be the place where they find it.
